Re-branding and Re-design

Hi, and thanks for stopping in! Well, what a crazy ride this has been! When I set out to do my hobby craft business, I didn’t really know where it would take me. I started making children’s clothing, went to a few events, got my feet wet, and still have loyal customers to this date that I sew for! I love sewing, but it was just a very small part of the craft world that I love.

Anyone who knows me knows I am a fabric collector. I have an extensive collection of all sorts of fabrics, specifically custom printed designs. I belong to quite a few fabric groups on social media, and I started seeing fabric covered stainless steel tumblers popping up. I immediately dove in learning all I could about the best methods, materials, and safety guidelines on tumblers. I started with a goal to make my immediate family fabric tumblers for Christmas, and things have evolved from there. What fabric tumblers did for me was combine my love of fabric and textiles with my love of other craft mediums.

So, why tumblers? Well, honestly, I love that it’s something functional you can use every day, but, more than that, it is a way to express yourself outside of your clothing. It’s a fun accessory that can convey mood, personality, and, of course, a way to carry around your beverage of choice for hours and hours at the temperature you want it. Ice cold, sure, ice lasts all day in these things. Hot coffee when you got caught up on a call and can’t drink it right away? Not a problem! 🙂

As I continued to dive into this craft, I discovered so many things, including one of my favorite things to work with, resin! I have spent the better part of the last year trying new things and perfecting my techniques. Pretty much every free moment I have had away from my day job has been investigating, learning, and making new things!

I am now selling custom tumblers of all sorts, but do still have a love of fabric tumblers, specifically. I have an extensive collection of fabric, glitter, mica powders/pigments, and alcohol inks to create beautiful designs.

With my new focus, I have decided to re-brand The Creative Penguins. I hope you like the functionality of our new website, and our new brand! As always, I welcome your comments and questions!
